Western Industrial Nevada, or WIN, a Northern Nevada networking group, had to move their monthly speaker series to a virtual platform during the pandemic. This month, it returned to an in-person gathering at the Atlantis.
"There's nothing like being in a room with someone and being able to connect personally," said WIN Board President Alexia Jobson. "We are Northern Nevada's premier networking organization, and every month we host top-notch speakers to talk to our community and business leaders about topics that are important to them."
This month's topic was a timely one, featuring Milena Regos, founder of a movement called Unhustle.
"A lot of people are reassessing their success right now," she said. "There's a huge quit culture going on, and there's a huge war for talent as well. Companies are struggling to find good people. So people are really redefining their priorities, creating better boundaries, and really seeing what drives them."
She started Unhustle about three years ago after a life-changing journey.
"Unhustle is about getting overwhelmed entrepreneurs, professionals and business owners to slow down so they can speed up," "Regos said. "It's about optimizing your well-being, having more clarity of your priorities, and redefining your success."
She hopes to inspire others to take on the same mindset when it comes to a work-life balance.
"I used to do marketing for a living and then pivoted my career to start Unhustle," Regos said. "It's a global movement. We have a lot of people all over the world that have been connecting with it, and my overall goal is to inspire 100 million people around the world to really change the way they live, work and play."
It's way, she says, to avoid burnout, something that's been a theme throughout the pandemic.
"I used to be working 18 hours day, struggling all the time, always on," she said. "And now i get my work done in a short amount of time, I can shift to rest and recovery and exercise and being fully present with my family. It's a completely different way of going through the days and I can't recommend it enough, it's great."
