A new judge has been seated in the Nevada state court in Reno.
Kathleen Drakulich was sworn in last Monday to replace retired Washoe County District Court Judge Janet Berry.
Drakulich was appointed June 30 by Gov. Brian Sandoval.
“I am humbled and honored to serve with the judges of the Second Judicial District Court,” remarks Judge Drakulich. “I am dedicated to performing my judicial functions in a manner that benefits the excellent reputation my colleagues have established.”
The governor cited Drakulich's private practice experience, involvement in energy and natural resource issues, and nearly five years as a Washoe County prosecutor.
Berry retired recently after four years as a Reno Municipal Court judge and about 11 years on the Washoe County bench.
