There are only 55 spots for a five-day ride that puts participants in the saddle alongside experienced cowboys, guiding 300 steers across the Nevada high desert before the herd makes its way through Reno.
The 2027 Reno Rodeo Cattle Drive runs June 13-17, beginning at Winnemucca Ranch and ending with a procession through the city ahead of the rodeo. Applications open Tuesday, September 1, at 10 a.m., and spots are expected to fill quickly.
The experience includes horse rental, meals, nightly campfires, live music, a fully stocked open bar and a support team. Riders will spend their days on horseback before the cattle drive culminates with the herd traveling down Clear Acre Lane, McCarran Boulevard and Sutro Street.
Participants must be at least 18 years old and have a minimum of 20 hours of horseback riding experience, including walking and trotting. Personal horses, pets, firearms and outside alcohol are not permitted on the trail.
The cost is $3,400 per person and is due at registration. Full refunds, minus a $1,000 processing fee, are available through March 15, 2027. After that date, all payments are non-refundable.
The cattle drive will culminate with riders and steers arriving at the Nevada State Fairgrounds to kick off the 2027 Reno Rodeo.
