The Truckee Police Department (TPD) has made an arrest in a shooting over a social media dispute.
They say Sunday night, they were dispatched to a single-car crash at the intersection of Floriston Court and Highland Avenue in the Olympic Heights subdivision.
TPD says they found the driver, 34-year-old Gayden Rosales of Truckee who was shot in the chest.
Rosales told responders he was shot by 45-year-old Michael Woll.
They say officers went to Woll's home but did not find him there.
TPD says instead, Woll turned himself in to the Nevada County Sherriff's Office substation.
Rosales told investigators he and Woll got into a dispute on social media.
This escalated into an in person confrontation that ultimately lead to the shooting.
TPD says several search warrants were served and investigators believe the have recovered the firearm used in the shooting.
They say the injury Rosales sustained is life threatening but they appear to be in a stable condition.
TPD says Woll was booked at the Nevada County Jail in Truckee for assault with a deadly weapon and criminal threats.
They say his bail was set at $50,000.
TPD says at this point in the investigation, they are confident that this was an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety.
