Caltrans: Traffic Released On US-50 Near Echo Summit

UPDATE: The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) says traffic has been released on US-50 just east of Echo Summit.

They said chain controls are still in place.

Drivers use caution.

 


Crews are on scene of a rock slide that has closed the westbound lane of U.S. 50 just east of Echo Summit. 

California Highway Patrol is doing one-way traffic control. 

CHP says it may take up to five hours to clear the debris and fully reopen the highway. 

CHP says the rock slide was first reported just after 1 p.m. on Monday.
