Carson City Deputies Release More Details on Body Found

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office has released more information concerning an unidentified woman whose body was found last year near Lone Mountain Cemetery.

Deputies say the woman was found wrapped in a sleeping bag on March 17, 2015 near a walking trail near Newridge and Northridge Drives.

A subsequent autopsy discovered that the woman had redish/blonde hair, and was between the ages of 42 and 71.

Deputies say two witnesses have come forward and said that the woman may have gone by the nickname Montana, and may also have had the first name of Julia. Deputies say the witness stated that the woman got prescription medications at CVS Pharmacy located on Carson Street and Winnie Lane. Another witness provided information that 'Montana' may have been from Florida or Montana.

The white woman was found wearing an adult diaper, white Asics size 7 shoes with purple lines, and size 8 rings. Aristar glasses and partial top dentures were also found.

Detectives believe she was buried from one month, up to 12 months.

Her DNA information was entered into a national database.
