A local woman will spend the next year in jail after being found guilty of helping hide her fugitive brother.
On Tuesday, a Churchill County District Judge found Becky Humphrey guilty of accessory to a felony.
As we reported in February 2020, officials found Wesley Lattin, Humphrey's brother, in a bunker on her property.
While hiding, Lattin was wanted on multiple charges of sexual assault on a juvenile.
During the hearing, Humphrey read an apology letter to her family.
"I want to apologize to my husband for not telling him that my brother was alive and at that time that he was on property. I am extremely sorry for allowing him to be blindsided by all of this."
The judge sentenced Humphrey to 364 days in Churchill County Jail.
Meanwhile, Lattin is currently in prison serving a life sentence for a sexual assault on a minor charge.
Lattin was featured on America's Most Wanted and had been on the run since August 2005Â when he failed to appear in what was then the Third Judicial District Court for trial.Â
A tip led to Lattin's arrest.Â
Officials said several bunkers were found on the property and at least one of them was very elaborate and appeared to be more than a temporary shelter equipped with a large bed, wall coverings, cooking utensils, solar panels and was equipped to get fresh air piped in.
