Today the City of Sparks began the process of creating a diversity commission.
"Reaching out to all members of our community, people who have not been involved in the past to make sure that we see different perspectives because we all come to the table with different voices." Said Charlene Bybee Ward 4, Sparks City Council
At the city council meeting Monday, the council directed the Sparks City Manager to look into models of diversity commissions.
Other council members expresses the need to include more community outreach as the process continues.
