Some local high-schoolers have organized a bone marrow donor registration drive to benefit 15-year-old Garrett Allen, who was recently diagnosed with Leukemia.
He was born with a rare blood disorder, and we've been in contact with him over the years, especially during our annual blood drives.
And now he has been diagnosed with Leukemia and is in need of a bone marrow transplant. Â
Today you can help him. Look for the "Be the Match" donor registry drive on the lawn in front of the UNR's Mathewson-IGT Knowledge Center from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m.
All that is required is a cheek swab, some basic information and a few minutes of your time.
You can find more information about how to join the registry, click here.Â
