Our Someone 2 Know is a born and bred Reno-ite and absolutely loves everything northern Nevada has to offer.
For the last ten years, Carrie Ann Sattler’s job at the Peppermill Casino Spa-Resort has been to share that enthusiasm with would-be visitors.
From quick a quick meeting over coffee, to checking on conference rooms, and helping guests at the property, Peppermill's Carrie Ann is ALWAYS on the move.
She likes it that way - and not just at work.
"I love to spend my time skiing. Beyond that, outdoors - anything; hiking, biking, lake, boat, wake-boarding - all of that's my favorite,” smiles Sattler, “Hunting season is coming up, right around the corner, so I'm excited for that."
And it's Carrie Ann's job - as Regional Sales Director - to make sure groups from northeastern states looking to host big meetings, understand how unique Reno really is - indoors, as well as out; “Additionally, we are well known for affordable luxury, and sometimes the price point, because it's so affordable, can cause people to say 'well, what am I gonna get if I go there?'"
Sattler says one of her favorite things about working at Peppermill is that it's “mom and pop” owned. "The same two owners who started a coffee shop in 1971 are still the owners that I see and work with every day."
Outside of work, Carrie Ann's biggest passion - without fail - is the Reno Rodeo. Her parents started taking her as a little girl (a pink cowboy-boot-wearing little girl).
"When I turned 16 I asked if I could volunteer for the rodeo, they said you have to be 18,” Sattler recalls. “So, I came back on my 18th birthday and have been volunteering for the Reno Rodeo for the last 15 years."
Carrie Ann calls rodeo part of her heart song, for teaching her the value of team work and community;
" ...And giving back to the community, raising dollars to do things for kids who matter."
And whilst she once thought of moving out of northern Nevada, Sattler now says - there's nowhere else she'd rather be.
"Life is great and it's good to be in place where I know that."
Carrie Ann sits on the executive committee for the Reno Rodeo Association - the group that is working on expanding the rodeo grounds.
