Fire crews responded to a fire along north McCarran Boulevard near Highway 395 and Northtowne Lane in Reno.
The fire started around 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
The cause is under investigation.
Viewer photos show a thick, black plume of smoke next to a parking lot near Home Depot.
Officials say it was a fire at a homeless encampment in the area.
