North Tahoe Fire says a gas leak has closed Highway 89 in both directions south of Fanny Bridge while crews try to cap the leak. 

The leak was first reported just after 10:45 a.m. Thursday. 

There's no word on what caused the leak - or when the roadway will fully reopen to traffic.Â
