UPDATE: Caltrans says Highway 50 at Echo Summit has been reopened after being closed due to snow slides.
Highway 89 remains closed around Emerald Bay for the same reason until further notice.

El Dorado County Deputies say Highway 50 at Echo Summit is currently closed after a snow slide early Monday afternoon. No injuries are reported.Â
California Highway Patrol says the slide happened just after 12:30 p.m. south of Lake Tahoe.Â
Deputies say one car got stuck, but crews have since pulled it out.Â
There's no official word on when the roadway will reopen to traffic.
Caltrans also says Highway 89 is closed around Emerald Bay due to snow slides as well. There's no estimated time for reopen.
