Ask the Doc: Mind Body Healing

Washoe County students head back to school on Monday, August 8, 2016. For many families that is when sick bugs begin to circulate around the house. In tonight’s Ask the Doctor, we will learn some tips to keep back-to-school bugs at bay.

Dr. Joey Gassen is with Northern Nevada Emergency Physicians and he practices at Renown Children’s Hospital. He will let us know how to help protect your kids from the more common ailments this time of year. Is soap and water better than hand sanitizer? What are the more common ailments facing kids this time of year?  He will answer those questions, plus any concerns you may have about your child’s health. Dr. Gassen is available to take your calls between 5-6 p.m. Call (775) 858-2222.

Plus, this Thursday, July 28th is Miracle Treat Day. You can help support Renown Children’s Hospital (which is a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital) by buying a sweet treat. When you purchase a Blizzard® from Dairy Queen on Thursday, $1 or more from every Blizzard treat sold in our area will be donated to Renown Children's Hospital. All the money raised will stay in the northern Nevada community to help fund state-of-the-art equipment and education programs at Renown Children's Hospital.
