Investigation Underway After Fire Starts Near Ashley Furniture Store in Reno

An investigation is underway after a fire started behind the Ashley Furniture Store near Moana Lane early Thursday morning.

Crews say the fire started around 6:15 a.m. on a loading dock underneath a semi-truck behind the building. They say the fire spread - and was contained to a nearby storage room.

No one was hurt.

Fire crews say they found a mattress underneath the semi-truck, and believe a homeless person may have started fire, but the investigation will determine an official cause.

Ashley Furniture Store will be closed due to smoke damage. There's no immediate word on when it will reopen to customers.
