Every year the Reno Rodeo Foundation collects new clothes for kids in protective custody all over the region.

We're in the final days of that six-week campaign.

There are more than a hundred donation bins set up at businesses all over Northern Nevada, and plenty of other ways to donate as well.

"You can text DenimDrive to 44321, you can go online to www.renorodeofoundation.org, or you can also mail a check, whatever is easiest for you," said Clara Andriola, Executive Director of the Reno Rodeo Foundation.

The event provides new clothes and school supplies for kids in protective custody in 14 Nevada counties, many who were taken from their homes with nothing but the clothes on their backs.

Donations made in each county stay in that county and go directly to help the children that need it the most, and that need has gone up this year.

"There is more demand than we've seen in the past and then this is also a challenge for the Denim Drive, because we haven't seen the same level of donations," Andriola said. "So the demand is increased but the level of donations haven't kept up with that."

Donations are accepted through the end of the year and no contribution is too small.

"Every penny counts," Andriola said.
