Thirteen people applied for the Washoe County School District (WCSD) Trustee Seat for District A.
Those who applied are Tara Carolan, Jeff Church, Megan Clowers, Lisa Genasci, Jack Heinemann, Terese Huerstel, Greg Juhl, Sharon Kennedy, Julie Moresi, Lori O'Leary, Heather Parkyn, David Perez and Wayne Van Der Wal.

On September 22nd, the Board of Trustees will narrow the pool of applicants, interview top candidates, make a final selection, and appoint the finalist to the Trustee Seat for District A.Â

The Washoe County School District (WCSD) Board of Trustees is interested in having community members apply for the trustee seat vacancy for District A.
Officials said the Board will publicize the vacancy and seek applications until 5 p.m. on September 15.
To be considered for the vacancy, individuals must meet the qualifications of residence within Washoe County for District A. The district is located in the south part of Reno and Incline Village. You can check for qualifications here.
To apply, residents can submit the following with a current resume, letter of intent and answers to the following questions:
- Why are you interested in serving on the WCSD Board of Trustees?Â
- What experience, interests, training or other skills do you feel you would bring to the WCSD Board of Trustees?Â
- What is the role of a WCSD Trustee?Â
Applications must be submitted by and must be received by 5 p.m. on September 15.

Additional steps include:
- Staff will notify the community of the vacancy through newspaper ads, local media outlets, and the District’s website.Â
- During its regular public meeting on Sept. 22, the Board of Trustees will narrow the pool of applicants, interview top candidates, make a final selection, and appoint the finalist to the Trustee Seat for District A. Â
- All applicants are invited to the Sept. 22 meeting.Â
- The newly selected Trustee will take the oath of office and begin service at the Sept. 22 meeting of the Board of Trustees. The term of this Trustee will expire at midnight on January 3, 2021.Â
