Over the weekend we learned of the passing of a Reno broadcasting and advertising icon - Jack Joseph.
  Â
Long-time Northern Nevada residents will remember Joseph from his late-night television show, where in addition to introducing movies he also interviewed some of the biggest stars of the day.
  Â
Newcomers to the area know him best from the "Jack Joseph Coupon Books" that are still delivered to our mailboxes monthly.
  Â
Joseph passed away last month at the age of 91.
  Â
Before coming west, he had a distinguished broadcasting career on the east coast.
And while serving in WWII, he earned the Purple Heart after being wounded as part of the first wave of the battle of Iwo Jima.
  Â
Jack Joseph ended all of his broadcasts with a signature sign-off wish for his viewers "blue skies, green lights and peace."Â
We wish the same for Jack and his family.  Â
