Local Girl Granted Wish Through Make-a-Wish Foundation

We have a follow-up to a Someone 2 Know story I brought you more than a year ago.

Emily Zimmerman battled brain cancer. And today, the cancer warrior princess got the surprise of a lifetime when her favorite - Princess Anna - gave her a call!

"I'm going to meet you soon, real soon. Would you like that?”

“Yeah!” (crowd laughs)"

In front of 600 people at the Atlantis Tuesday, the Make-a-Wish Foundation granted Emily's wish to meet Princess Anna in Disneyworld.

The non-profit grants wishes of children diagnosed with life-threatening medical conditions.

Dozens of Northern Nevadan kids are still waiting and wishes cost about $5,000 each.

Morgan Stanley adopted Emily's wish and this morning a limo escorted her to the airport. Before jumping on a plane, we talked to her dad about what this means to them.

"Her whole life was hospitals for a year-and-a-half and so now, it's like wow, she gets the royal treatments and she doesn't have to be in the lonely world of hospitals anymore and she deserves it,” says father Ken Zimmerman.

A big thanks to Make-a-Wish for inviting me to emcee this magical event.
