54-year-old Allen Taylor is a husband, father of three and long time Boys and Girls Club of Truckee Meadows Director. It was late September when he went in with shoulder pain and shortness of breath, and what he thought was an injury from lifting weights, turned out to be a heart attack.

After a couple weeks at Renown, he went into cardiac arrest and had to be taken to Stanford Hospital. 

"This is not the kind of person you would look at and think something would happen to him," says Mike Wurn, CEO of Boys and Girls Club of Truckee Meadows. "He does 5K's, 3K's, hikes and walks, just someone who is active all the time," he says. 

His wife Amy Taylor says doctors believe he needs a heart transplant.

His latest heart surgery affected his lungs and before he can get a transplant, he needs to get his lungs strong enough to receive a new heart.
