24 Players Advance From Dayton Web.com Tour Qualifier

Nevada Press Release:

For the second time in less than two weeks, and third time in his career, Nevada junior Sam Meek has been selected as the Mountain West Golfer of the Week.

Meek helped lead the Wolf Pack to its sixth top five finish of the season with a top five of his own earlier this week at the Duck Invitational. He earned his third top five of the year, and second consecutive, after placing fourth in the field of 88. Meek finished the tournament at 1-under par and was one of just four players to finish the event under par after the three rounds of competition. He led the entire field with 13 birdies, including five in each of the last two rounds. Additionally, Meek ranked in a tie for second in the field after playing the par 5s at 6-under for the week.

Meek is playing some of his best golf of the season as of late with a win and a top five in the Pack’s first two tournaments of the spring. In his last two events, Meek is averaging 70.6 strokes per round and has collected 25 birdies and an eagle.

Nevada wastes no time in getting back out there as it will compete in Stanford's event, The Goodwin, this Thursday through Saturday in Palo Alto, Calif.
