Mother of Child Killed at Sandy Hook to Speak in Reno

The mother of one of the 20 children killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School will speak at Reno High School on Thursday night.

Scarlett Lewis’ son, six-year-old Jesse, was killed at the Connecticut school on December 14, 2012.

Six staff members were also killed that same day.

Lewis now speaks with communities across the country about her son and her personal journey to honor him through the Jesse Lewis Choose Love Movement. At this presentation, she will provide tools to educators and families to become more empathetic and compassionate.

Lewis will speak starting at 6 p.m. in the Reno High School Theater at 395 Booth Street. The event is free and open to the public.
