The Nevada Department of Public Safety (DPS) says they've welcomed a new K9 unit on Friday.
They said Lobo, a three-year-old German Shepherd, graduated from training and joined them as an explosives detection K9.
DPS said Lobo was donated to them by Silver State K9 in Las Vegas.
They said Lobo and his handler, Trooper Pendley with the Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP), went through over 200 hours of learning and consisted of location and identification of commercial and improvised explosives.
DPS said prior to joining the team, Lobo worked with Silver State K9 conducting explosive detection searches as needed in the Las Vegas metro area.
They said Lobo and his handler's duty station will be in Southern Nevada.
