Nevadans who have earned the highest honors in the Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts could soon get a customized license plate marking the achievement.
The Senate Transportation Committee is scheduled to review Assembly Bill 449 on Thursday. It already passed the Assembly in a 39-1 vote.
The bill would allow people to buy special plates indicating they've earned the Eagle Scout rank from the Boy Scouts or the Gold Award from the Girl Scouts. It also authorizes different plates that show support for scouting organizations.
Proceeds from the license plates would go to promote the organizations in schools and to help youth afford Boy Scout or Girl Scout camps. (AP)
