The James D. Hoff Peace Officer Memorial hosted the 37th annual memorial ceremony on Friday, May 3.
The event recognizes Nevada law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty.
It took place at Idlewild Park at the James D. Hoff Peace Officer Memorial, and members of the public were invited to attend.
Six Nevadans had plaques placed, including officers of the Pyramid Lake Tribal Police, Nevada State Police, and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
The memorial was created in 1988, a year after it was found there was no list of Nevada's fallen officers. It was named after James Hoff, who was killed in 1979 while working an undercover narcotics case.
The Memorial Committee also recognizes officers who were placed in harm's way and survived. Officers are nominated by their agency, and after reviewing submissions, the committee awards them with a plaque, and they are recognized for their heroism.

Today, we honor our fallen Nevada law enforcement officers. As we etch their names into our memorial, we will never forget their bravery and sacrifice.
