According to Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, the fire has been put out and crews are mopping up.
The fire was about one and a half acres.
There was no damage to any buildings and no injuries were reported.
A spokesperson for Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue confirms the fire was started by dry lightning.Â
Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue wants to remind residents that if you see dry lightning, wait until you see smoke to report the fire.
TMFR has been receiving an overwhelming amount of 911 calls, many of which end up not being a fire.
