Nonprofit Clean Up The Lake (CUTL) is hosting their inaugural Polar Plunge - no wetsuits or SCUBA gear, just swimsuits and bravery.
The plunge goes down on Saturday, May 10 at Lakeside Beach in South Lake Tahoe. The event starts at 9:30 a.m., and the plunge is to take place at 10:00 a.m. sharp.
Participating plungers will be trying to raise funds and awareness for CUTL, who focuses on removing underwater litter from Lake Tahoe and the surrounding area lakes.
Anyone who wants to participate is encouraged to register in advance. The first fifty sign-ups will receive a custom embroidered beach towel in commemoration of the event.
