A South Lake Tahoe man has been arrested after a short pursuit after allegedly setting a fire in the meadow south of Bijou Park.
Andrew Glabek, a transient man currently residing in South Lake Tahoe, was arrested and booked into the El Dorado County Jail on Thursday morning.
Around 6:00 a.m. Thursday morning, South Lake Tahoe police officers responded to a report of a wildfire in the meadow area south of Bijou Park.
When the officers got there, they found the fire and saw a man fleeing from the area on a bicycle.
The officers followed the man and quickly arrested him.
Officers were able to call in fire fighters from Cal Fire and the South Lake Tahoe Fire Department, and they were able to fully extinguish the fire.
Glabek has been charged with unlawfully causing a forest fire and resisting a police officer.
