McQueen High School briefly shifted into a secured campus Monday morning before returning to normal operations, according to information later shared by the Washoe County School District.
The district said at 11:20 a.m. it notified families and the community about the earlier incident at the school.
Washoe County School District School Police said McQueen High School had been placed in a secured campus for a short time.
School police said the initial secured campus was reported at 10:42 a.m. after the crisis alert system was activated accidentally. The alert prompted the temporary security measure, which was cleared shortly after.
School police said the secured campus was also tied to student disturbances. Those disturbances were handled quickly, and McQueen High School resumed normal operations.
