Weather statements have been issued for multiple areas around the region for strong thunderstorms, as well as a dust advisory.
The National Weather Service in Reno has issued special weather statements for thunderstorm activity in the areas of Silver Springs, Stagecoach, and the Silver Springs Airport, as well as the Lake Tahoe area.
Winds could gust up to 50 mph, with half-inch hail in the Silver Springs, Stagecoach, and Silver Springs Airport areas, according to the NWS.
Wind gusts could reach 40 mph around Lake Tahoe.
A dust advisory has also been issued for Churchill County.
Just before 3:30 p.m., a wall of dust was along a line extending from near Lahontan Reservoir to eight miles southwest of Fallon to 15 miles southwest of Stillwater, moving north at five mph.
This wall of dust could reduce visibility to less than a mile, with strong winds exceeding 50 mph.
The dust advisory is set to expire at 4:30 p.m.
