After two high-speed police chases in California, two people are in police custody after stealing a couple of trucks from a Carson City dealership.
The Carson City Sheriff's Office fielded a call on Monday that two pickups were stolen from the local General Motors dealership at around 2:00 a.m.
According to a report, representatives from the dealership also reached out to California authorities when they realized the vehicles were stolen - shortly afterwards, California Highway Patrol located the trucks and started a pursuit.
As CHP attempted to stop the trucks, they both sped away in different directions. This resulted in two different high-speed chases on the freeways and through downtown Los Angeles neighborhoods.
Both pursuits ended with no injuries, minor damage to the stolen trucks, and one Highway Patrol vehicle damaged.
Carson City detectives are currently investigating this theft. While the suspects have not been identified, it's believed that they may have been on the dealership lot on December 29, and may have planned the thefts well in advance.
Anyone with information regarding the theft of the trucks is encouraged to call the Carson City Sheriff's Office at (775) 887-2067.
