Relocating Trees

The City of Sparks will be relocating about 42 trees beginning Monday, April 8.

They will be relocating trees along Sparks Boulevard, from Baring Boulevard to Prater Way, to prepare for the widening of the street.

The 42 trees will be moved to local parks, including Shelly Park, Shadow Mountain Park, Golden Eagle Regional Park and Les Hicks Jr. Park.

This project will take about two weeks to complete.

“This is a great opportunity for us to relocate healthy trees that would have eventually been removed when Sparks Blvd. is widened in this area,” said Assistant Public Works Manager Matt Dearborn. “We are excited for the opportunity to replant them in our local parks.”
