The Carson Valley Parade of Lights is coming up on Saturday, and the Douglas County Sheriff's Office is reminding people to be safe and mindful if they attend.

In a post on Facebook, the DCSO is asking people to stay out of the road and remain on sidewalks so as not to interfere with the parade route.

They also ask people to keep an eye on their valuables and not to leave them unattended. People should also dress for cold weather and be cautious of ice.

Lastly, they ask that people be courteous to traffic controllers, flaggers and Sheriff's Office volunteers.
