The Eureka County Sheriff's Office says an inmate that walked away from a work crew on Wednesday is now back in custody.

No other immediate details have been released. 

ORIGINAL STORY: 

Nevada Department of Corrections (NDC), Eureka County Sheriff's Office (ECSO), the Nevada Department of Public Safety, Investigation Division (NDI) and other agencies are actively searching for NDOC escaped inmate Jose Salvador Elias.

Elias walked away from a work crew in the area of Pinto Summit outside of Eureka.

He was last seen wearing a blue button down shirt with CCC printed on the back, with a white t-shirt underneath and blue jeans.

ECSO is warning the public not to attempt to apprehend or help Elias if seen.

Anyone who sees him should call 911 immediately.

ECSO also warns that anyone found to be aiding his escape will be arrested and charged accordingly.
