Forward progress of the Creek Fire in El Dorado County has been stopped.

The Creek Fire is located east of Auburn near Greenwood, off Highway 193. 

Around 8 p.m., the fire was 16 acres and about 25 percent contained.

Although evacuations were in place, they have since been lifted.

Highway 193 was blocked from Main Street to Penobscot Road, and reopened around 6:30 p.m.

According to the El Dorado County Fire Protection District, crews originally responded to a building on fire that spread to vegetation.
