Original story, May 10:
Firefighters put out a fire that destroyed a home and caused some damage to two others in south Reno near Damonte Ranch High School.
It broke out at a home on Fire Poppy Circle just before 9:30 p.m. Friday.Â
More than a dozen engines responded to the blaze according to a spokesperson for the Reno Fire Department.
Nobody was injured in the fire, but the house where it started was destroyed. One neighbor's house suffered minor exterior damage while another neighbor's house received some damage in the attic.
The two adults and their dog who lived in the home that was destroyed will need to be relocated. A cat of theirs is reportedly still missing. The Red Cross will be helping them.
The neighbors whose homes were affected are able to continue living in their homes.
It is unknown at this time what caused the fire.
