Reno Fire says a small brush fire that broke out late Thursday night was caused by illegal fireworks.Â
It's actually the second time a fire was sparked by illegal fireworks on the same night.Â
The half-acre fire broke out on Selmi Dr. near Clear Acre Ln. in Reno around 10 p.m.Â
Crews worked fast to put out the fire before it spread to nearby houses.Â
A fence was damaged.Â
The Reno Fire Department (RFD) would like to remind residents that the use of any fireworks in Reno and Washoe County are illegal, and unsafe.
This lil' firework right here burned half an acre & a fence last night between Selmi Drive and 395 N.

Just a reminder that the smallest firework can cause severe damage.
