North Lyon County fire says Forward progress has been stopped on the Rancho Fire. 

It was first reported just before 12:30 p.m. Thursday.

The first units to arrive found an escaped controlled burn that had grown to 1/2 an acre in size. Fire crews stopped the spread before it could damage any structures.

North Lyon Fire was assisted by Central Lyon Fire, and Storey County Fire. 

No one was injured.

Fire crews are responding to a brush fire near Rancho Road and Ricci Lane off Farm District Road in Lyon County.

There's no immediate word on any evacuations, or how the fire started.
