Authorities say they were dispatched to a fire at a home on Woodchuck with a resident possibly still inside.

Crews say the fire could be seen from their Main Street station, and they immediately requested other resources, when they arrived on the scene, the house was 60 percent engulfed in flames, and the resident had already been extricated by two men who worked nearby.

Crews say they called for help from Central Lyon and Storey County Fire but had the majority of the fire knocked down before they arrived.

Crews say that accessing water was difficult as it was an unhybridant area and they had to use water tender trucks from the City, Central Lyon, and Churchill County Fire.

Crews say the resident said she was watching television when she heard a big pop that startled her dog, she then noticed smoke and flames coming from the rear of the home, she immediately ran to the bedroom and pushed out a window where the two men helped her out to safety.

Fire Crews say the cause of the fire is unknown and under investigation but that they believe the home is a complete loss.

There were no injuries reported and Red Cross has been notified on the resident's behalf.

This is a developing story and we will update you with more information as it becomes available.
