Update: There are several delays and a few flight cancellations at the Reno-Tahoe International Airport on Sunday morning. If you have a flight scheduled into or out of RNO Sunday you should check with your airline for updates.Â
-----
A number of arrivals and departures at the Reno-Tahoe International Airport have been delayed or canceled as a large winter storm moves through the area.
A spokesperson for the airport confirms that the delays and cancellations are due to the winter storm moving through the area.
They say low visibility is causing delays and some arrival cancellations, but that those decisions are made by individual airlines and pilots, not the airport.
Runways at the airport are open and operational according to the spokesperson.
According to the arrivals and departures listings on the airport's website five flights arriving Saturday were delayed in their arrival by an hour or more, while other flights were delayed 15Â to 20 minutes or more, and two flights were canceled.
Seven arrivals on the airport website are showing as on time.
Two departing flights are showing up as delayed, but all other departures are on time according to the website.
According to a post Friday on the airport's X page snow fighting crews have been working through the weekend to keep runways clear for safe takeoffs and landings.
Our snow fighters are geared up and ready to roll through the weekend, ensuring runways are clear for safe takeoffs and landings. Please check your flight status with your airline - cancellations are at the discretion of each pilot/airline. Your safe travel is our top priority. pic.twitter.com/RssQDrBTGE
