Night one of the PRCA rodeo kicked off with a packed arena for Patriot Night. There was a guest appearance by a local WWII veteran, a re-enlistment ceremony and a special tribute to Nevada's Gold Star families. 

R.C. Landingham, the Reno Rodeo reigning bareback champion, kicked off the PRCA action with an 83-point ride on Flying U Rodeo's Misplaced Insanity, earning him the victory lap.  

Saddle bronc was stacked with top contenders; however, it was Australian cowboy Damian Brennen who secured the top score with an 87.5-point ride on Western Rodeo's Molly B.

J.D. Struxness — 2019 and 2023 Reno Rodeo steer wrestling champion — is one step closer to his third pair of silver spurs with a 5.6-second run tonight, putting him in the top spot with a 10.4 on two head. 

The ladies came out in force during breakaway roping, with Suzanne Williams having the quickest throw at 2.9 seconds. 

The riders had to contend with some high-caliber bulls tonight, but No. 35 in the world standings, Ruger Piva had the best score of the night with an 82 on Diamond G Rodeo's Hans Solo.
