For the 25th year in a row, thousands of people came together to take part in Pinocchio's Moms on the Run.

The event aims to support women going through breast and gynecological cancer. Since the event started 25 years ago, it has raised close to nine million dollars, which quickly goes back into the community.

"So all the money Moms on the Run raises - we help women that are battling breast and gynecological cancers. And we pay for things like rent and utilities, mortgages, gas, things like that. We call them everyday living expenses," said Jillian Pinocchio.

The event is a 5k event which people can either run or walk.

We saw some people go all out on Sunday, while others took their time, but for most people, seeing the community come together like this was the best part.

"It's a great event. It's the perfect way to start Mother's Day. We love walking around and talking to each other; we did the walk and talk and it was an amazing time with my family and friends," said Tonya Laney.

Once the event wrapped up, people took the time to talk, enjoy ice cream and even watch the kids race.

Many people say they are already looking forward to next year, and can't wait to see what the turnout will look like.
