On April 16, 2025, the Regional Human Exploitation and Trafficking Unit (HEAT) arrested 72-year-old Douglas Day on 10 counts of possession of child pornography involving victims under the age of 16.

According to booking records, Day's bail has been set at $2,000,000.

This arrest marks the conclusion of a 17-month investigation into Day and his photography business, “Top Gun Images.”

Authorities served search warrants at two of Day’s residences, seizing multiple pieces of evidence.

Upon review of the collected evidence materials, investigators discovered not only child pornography but also communications indicating that Day had attempted to contact several minors.

He allegedly offered to take photographs or videos of the minors in exchange for sexual acts.

An arrest warrant was subsequently issued, and Day was taken into custody.

The case is a result of a coordinated effort between the Reno Police Patrol, HEAT, the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC), and the Regional Sex Offender Notification Unit (RSONU).

Officials are urging anyone with information related to this active investigation, or with knowledge of sex trafficking or prostitution, to contact H.E.A.T. at rpdheat@reno.gov.
