Mark your calendars, the holiday season is fast approaching, and so is one of Carson City's most popular family traditions.
Tickets are now on sale for the Virginia & Truckee Railway’s annual Polar Express Train Ride, an event that sells out quickly every year.
Families are invited to climb aboard the historic diesel train, wear their pajamas, sip hot cocoa, and experience a fully staged performance inspired by the beloved holiday story.
The ride features costumed characters, festive music, and a sparkling stop at the North Pole, where each child receives a silver sleigh bell as the symbolic first gift of Christmas.
“From pajama-clad families to twinkling North Pole lights, the Polar Express Train Ride is back to brighten the season,” organizers said.
A variety of seating options are available, including classic, deluxe, and several VIP experiences for individuals, families, and groups.

Departures take place from the Carson City Eastgate Depot on select dates in November and December.
Guests are asked to arrive 45 minutes before departure for check-in.
