American Honey Queen

Cheyenne Bastian-Brown, the 2025 American Honey Queen, is currently visiting Reno, from May 19 to May 21.

During her stay, she will speak at local schools and appear at Reno’s World Bee Day Event at Idlewild Park on May 20.

In area schools, Bastian-Brown will teach students about the importance of honeybees to Nevada agriculture and explain how honeybee pollination supports food production.

She will also discuss how honey provides energy.

At the World Bee Day event, she will address the connection between native pollinators and honeybees.

Her visit is sponsored by the Help Save the Bees Foundation.

Bastian-Brown is the daughter of Cory and Jennifer Brown of Ralston, Pennsylvania. She is currently a senior at Pennsylvania State University, majoring in Agricultural and Extension Education. She has been active in multiple organizations at the university and has held several leadership roles.

As the 2025 American Honey Queen, she serves as a national spokesperson for the American Beekeeping Federation, a trade organization representing beekeepers and honey producers across the country.

In this role, she will travel nationwide throughout the year to promote the honey industry.

Before her current title, she served as the 2024 Pennsylvania Honey Queen, promoting the industry at fairs, festivals, farmers’ markets, and through media appearances.

According to the American Beekeeping Federation, “The beekeeping industry touches the lives of every individual in our country. In fact, honeybees are responsible for nearly one-third of our entire diet, in regards to the pollination services that they provide for a large majority of fruits, vegetables, nuts and legumes.

This amounts to nearly $19 billion per year of direct value from honeybee pollination to United States agriculture.”
