Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford is urging anyone who has received racist text messages in recent days to file a complaint with his office.

The FBI has released a statement saying the racist texts are being recieved by people around the country.

In a post on X, the Attorney General says his office has been made aware of vile, racist messages being sent to Nevadans that reference enslavement and forced labor.

Investigators with the AG's office are working with law enforcement and others to find the source of the message, which appear to be robotext messages according to the post.

Nationally, the FBI is in contact with the Department of Justice and other federal authorities on the matter, according to a statement.

The AG said the messages would not be shared publicly due to their morally abhorrent and extremely racist nature.
