Clear Creek Tahoe is currently under a precautionary boil water order after a failure was discovered in a transmission main that supplies the area with water.
The order will remain in effect until at least Friday morning.
On Wednesday Douglas County Water checked out a possible water leak in the area, discovering that the transmission main that supplies water to the area had a failure and needed to be shut down.
The shutdown led to isolated areas in the subdivision with no or low water pressure.
On Thursday Douglas County's contractor found a break in the pipeline and has started efforts to replace that section of pipe.
Douglas County Water Operations workers will flush dead-end water mains and many hydrants to prepare the system to be brought back online.
Once the system is flushed Douglas Operations will begin clearing the system to lift the boil water order.
