Friday, the Bureau of Land Management announced it has approved the sale of more than 1,000 acres on two parcels near Ely.
This is the third in a series of sales under the White Pine County Conservation, Creation, and Development Act of 2006.
That act authorized the sale of 45,000 acres of public land to promote development.
5% of those sales will go to the state education fund, and 10% to local first responders, transportation, and natural resources planning. The remaining 85% will be used for land management activities in White Pine County.
The BLM will announce the sale once it’s been scheduled. You can find more information about it here.
