Last year, Carson City Parks, Rec & Open Space wanted to motivate people in the area to explore the area's trails and open spaces with the Trails Challenge.
It's back again this year, and begins on March 15 at Long Ranch Park in Carson City at 2:00 p.m.
The Trails Challenge is a free program originally launched to celebrate National Trails Day.
The program gives people an opportunity to enter a prize raffle after completing a minimum of five area trails between the dates of March 15 and November 1.
The event on March 15 includes a few special speakers and a Park Ranger-led Bear Walk starting at 3:00 p.m. - which can be counted as one of the five trails to count towards the challenge.
Anyone interested in joining this year's Trails Challenge can sign up on the web, or register in person at the kick-off event.
