Carson City

Carson City is looking for people interested in stepping into two open seats on the Carson City Culture & Tourism Authority, a board that oversees tourism matters in the capital.

The authority meets on the second Monday of every month at 4 p.m. at the Community Center in the Sierra Room and works on a volunteer basis. Members are expected to commit about six to eight hours a month.

There are two open positions. One is a two-year term for a person who can represent the hotel motel industry. The second is a two-year term beginning in June for a person who can represent the citizens at large.

The Carson City Board of Supervisors will review applications, conduct interviews, and appoint the selected people to the board. All members serve without compensation.

Applications are available online at www.carson.org/volunteer. Submissions will be accepted until April 30. Interviews are tentatively scheduled during a regularly scheduled Board of Supervisors meeting on Thursday, May 21.

All applications submitted will be considered public information.
